Recommended Uses:
Architectural Finishes & Designer Collection Systems: Suitable for interior application in new construction or renovation over new drywall either unfinished or painted, and to resurface damaged drywall, masonry, wood paneling, brick, stucco, plaster, paint and ceramic tile. It can also be used in humid climates prone to mold and mildew.
Sound Control System: Recommended for interior use on walls and ceilings, over new drywall or other surfaces in applications where there is a need for greater sound absorption.
Applications:
Architectural Finishes & Designer Collection Systems: Hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, schools and universities, churches, HUD housing, apartments and condos, restaurants, retail stores, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, marine interiors, single family housing, military facilities, and many more.
Sound Control System:
Conference rooms, hotel meeting rooms, school classrooms, music rooms, churches, ballrooms, home and commercial theaters, and a variety of facilities for a decorative, acoustical treatment.
All of the above applications require a degree of wall surface preparation prior to application of the glass textile depending on the thickness of the selected pattern. The selection of a paint coating/finish is the key to the system’s performance and application. See finish recommendations.
Finish recommendations:
Architectural Finishes & Designer Collection Systems: Texturglas offers a great degree of flexibility in allowing the specifier to determine the color and finish options. High quality, premium paints, coatings and finishes should always be used. • High traffic areas for durability: epoxy coating • Mold and mildew prone areas: latex acrylic with mildew inhibitor. Recommend Zinsser Plus System 5 year mold and mildew warranty. • Moisture resistance: waterproof/moisture barrier coating. • Low traffic areas: latex acrylic satin, eggshell, semi gloss or high gloss.•Decorative finishes: multicolor, faux finishes, glazing paints, stains, metallic and pearlescent finishes, and hand painted murals.
Sound Control System: • Any type of paint coating can be applied with a paint roller. When painted with latex acrylic paint, the system is breathable to reduce the formation of mold and mildew.
Limitations:
Texturglas is not recommend for exterior use unless embedded in an exterior stucco or other coatings made for outdoor use. For lightweight patterns, a wall liner or skim coating is recommended to effectively hide imperfections of the wall surface. For masonry block, the block faces should be in plane and the joints should be filled to produce a uniform appearance. Acceptable surface appearance may be dependent on proper surface preparation. Installation, Maintenance & Repair:
Texturglas is installed and applied like wallcovering. Some patterns are dry hung (paste the wall) and some patterns can be pulled through a paste machine. Tools needed include 3/4” to 1” nap roller to apply adhesive, primer and paint; plastic smoother or brush applicator; paint brush; sharp razor knife; ruler-measuring tape; straight-edge. Wall surfaces should be prepared and primed according to system recommendation. Pre-cut lengths of glass fabric wallcovering. Wallcovering is applied to wall and each length is butt joined while matching up the yarns and/or pattern for best results. Allow to dry (approximately 24 hours) Apply primer coat of paint on glass fabric, allow to dry, then apply top quality undiluted finish top coat.
Maintenance:
Texturglas is washable according to paint manufacturer’s recommendations. Avoid using a stiff scrub brush or abrasive.
Repair:
Minor dents and scratches can be touched up with the same color of paint coating with a paint brush. For larger damaged areas, utilize a simple double cut, patch and repair method. Instructions are available upon request, or visit www.roosintl.com.
Warranty:
Limited Warranty: The manufacturer warrants that for a period of five (5) years from the date of shipment that its glass textile wallcovering products will conform to their product specifications and will be free from defects in excess of those permitted by their product specifications. THE MANUFACTURER DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. If any products sold by manufacturer fails to conform to the above warranty, manufacturer shall supply replacement product free of charge. The supply of replacement product is the exclusive remedy and is the limit of the manufacturer's liability. In no event shall the manufacturer be liable for incidental or consequential damages. |
