EnVision PVC-Free Wallcovering:
Shoe Carnival EnVisions Innovative Wall Solution
In 2007, Shoe Carnival, Inc. completed the construction of their new headquarters in Evansville, Indiana. They faced a unique design issue in the building's two-story, open-plan lobby due to its large, blue-tinted glass windows. During daylight hours, natural light streamed in through the window, but after the sun went down, the look and feel was dramatically changed. Despite the painters' best efforts, the metallic paint on the lobby walls showed roller marks and did not give the dramatic effect that Shoe Carnival executives were looking for.
The solution proved elegant in its simplicity. Finding the right look just took some vision. Or more precisely, EnVision, which is a unique collection of earth friendly wallcoverings from Roos International of Deerfield Beach, Florida. The product was presented to Shoe Carnival by Ken Tirey of Fashion Wallcoverings of Cleveland, Ohio.
Shoe Carnival was pleased that EnVision helped them solve a design problem, while also helping them be environmentally responsible. Among its many sustainable characteristics, PVC-free EnVision is an effective green alternative to traditional vinyl wallcoverings and its breathability significantly reduces the risk of mold and mildew.
"Shoe Carnival was interested in something for the environment as well as a product that made economic sense. EnVision solved both situations. It's a good product. And it looks fantastic and adds a touch of elegance."

TexturGlas Glass Textile Wall Finish System:
Pompano Beach Middle School, Florida
The corridor walls of the school were soft gypsum drywall and old plaster. The drywall was kicked in and damaged by karate "wanna-be" kids. The old plaster walls continued to crack and fail.
The maintenance staff were continually patching, repairing and painting the walls during the year to maintain an acceptable appearance.
It was a never ending problem.
All interior corridors had four feet of gypsum from the floor up replaced with a hardened gypsum, and then all wall surfaces were covered with the glass textile wall finish system and painted with a latex semi gloss to match the existing school colors. The installation of 1,350 yards was completed in 1996 by the school maintenance crew.
"You can't imagine the problems we were having before this installation. It is like night and day. We are very happy with the system and would like to see it in other areas of the school."
- Dr. Roundtree, Assistant Principal
